The Wanted Bride

8.500 €

< 118 × 60 cm / acrylic on canvas >

2025/12

„The Wanted Bride,” part of the n’ovelism series, draws on the cover of Mike Shayne’s „Murder and the Wanton Bride“ and transforms the classic pulp-fiction motif into an image about our deepest instincts. The wolf’s head in place of the human face makes visible what we prefer to suppress: the wildness that lives on within us, no matter how civilized we may appear. A reference to the original can be found at the lower left of the piece.

Petrol-colored coins float around the figure as if following their own gravity. They act as symbols of the eternal tension between beauty and danger, while also reminding us that desire always comes at a price. The electrical impulses that transition from the dress into the abstract space connect the figure and the background into a vibrating network. This creates a visual pull that blends reality and fantasy into one another. The bride’s lavish hair is a work of art in itself: elevated, sweeping, oversized and amplifying this effect.

The entire artwork is full of tension: between fairy tale and film noir, between grace and predator, between collage, illustration, and painting.
