The collaboration between internationally renowned artist Tom Lohner and Weingut Krispel unites art, craftsmanship, and regional identity in a truly unique way. For an exclusive special edition of the Grauburgunder, Lohner designed the label himself. The miniature artwork adorning the bottle is far more than decoration - it is inspired by his piece “Steiermark Paravent”, presented at the Expo 2025 in Osaka.
At the heart of Lohner’s vibrant composition lies the Krispel winery - a place where the vineyard’s tendrils flow into the architecture like veins of the landscape. It is a scene suspended between reality and dream, between landscape and vision. Floating wine barrels frame the composition, adding a sense of sculptural depth and theatrical presence. The result is an authentic fusion of nature, culture, and creativity. The wine, shaped by the character of the Styrian landscape, and the artwork, which interprets the region in color and form, come together as a holistic expression of Styrian art of living.
